Microplate Reader Results
OncImmune is a biotechnology company developing blood tests to enable the
early detection of breast and ovarian cancer. Part of the
development process involves running a series of tests on blood
samples using a Micro Array Reader. This process generates a
colossal amount of data. For example, a recent study on 230 women
generated a quarter of a million readings.
Harlow Wood Consulting were commissioned to develop a framework
to track and to hold details on serum samples and the results of tests run against these serum samples
using a Micro Array Reader. The framework also provides the
facility to check the calibration of the device being used and to
validate the results of each test performed using that device.
"As a young biotechnology
company, OncImmune is in a constant state of development with
procedures being refined on a daily basis. The software
implemented by Harlow Wood Consulting is flexible and robust enough to cope with these
changes. Giving a cancer diagnosis to the wrong patient would be
disastrous but the software has simplified and made more reliable
the linking of test results to patient samples. When the diagnostic
product is launched into the clinical environment many samples will
be analysed each day and it is then that the software will become
invaluable."
